Semantic Based Network Growth in Instant Messaging Environment

چکیده
The instant information exchanging network of the Internet is interpreted as the consequences of invisible connection between humans. In the graph based studies the nodes are human beings and the edges represent various social relationships. The interactions among users can be interpreted via the formation and evolution of semantics. The interactive as well as intertwined behaviors are the foundation of network itself; at the same time, they shape the way how and where the network will evolve. This paper proposes a network growth model based on the semantic similarity as well as popularity of nodes. In our model, the nodes represent Sina Weibo blogs and are with semantics, the links are subscribing hyperlinks between nodes. The probability of link establishment between two nodes then calculated from the similarity between nodes. The data and experiments are based on Sina Weibo blogs, which are the continuous results of interactions by users. We collect data using WebCrawler from Sina API, obtaining a portion of the whole network. Results show that the statistic properties of Sina Weibo are in close analogy with that of social network and also the characteristic complex network. The studied network contains a number of very high-degree nodes; these nodes are the cores which small groups strongly clustered, and low-degree nodes at the fringes of the network. However, some nodes with too much semantics (especially under one category) are in decreased chances of having links from newly added nodes. The reason may lies in that the over-abundant semantics remains confusion for knowledge acquiring.

Egocentric Analysis and Visualization of Instant Messaging Activity
In this paper, we develop novel analysis and visualization schemes to reveal to the user the communication context of her instant messaging network. Cues for temporal communication context are critical during human communication, however they are not currently revealed in popular instant messaging tools. Our work addresses privacy issues by focusing on a single individual’s communication with h...
متن کاملxOperator - Interconnecting the Semantic Web and Instant Messaging Networks
Instant Messaging (IM) is in addition to Web and Email the most popular service on the Internet. With xOperator we present a strategy and implementation which deeply integrates Instant Messaging networks with the Semantic Web. The xOperator concept is based on the idea of creating an overlay network of collaborative information agents on top of social IM networks. It can be queried using a cont...
متن کاملText normalization and semantic indexing to enhance Instant Messaging and SMS spam filtering
The rapid popularization of smartphones has contributed to the growth of online Instant Messaging and SMS usage as an alternative way of communication. The increasing number of users, along with the trust they inherently have in their devices, makes such messages a propitious environment for spammers. In fact, reports clearly indicate that volume of spam over Instant Messaging and SMS is dramat...

This paper presents a complete network analyzer development for network delay in campus environment. The purpose of this study is to define the accuracy of network analyzer development with independent data, real network and OPNET simulation tool. The network delay will measure based on transmission delay and propagation delay. This network analyzer software will test on delay generated by the ...
متن کاملUsing Dialogue Acts to Suggest Responses in Support Services via Instant Messaging
Instant messaging dialogue is real-time, text-based computer-mediated communication conducted over the Internet. Messages sent over instant messaging can be encoded We propose a method of using dialogue acts to predict utterances in taskoriented dialogue. Dialogue acts provide a semantic representation of utterances in a dialogue. An evaluation using a dialogue simulation program shows that our...
